Dr. Serge Schreiner

Serge Schreiner, a native of Schifflange, Luxembourg, holds the Dudley P. and Patricia C. Jackson Professorship in Chemistry and is the chair of the Department of Chemistry. He received his BSc in chemistry from Miami University of Ohio, and his PhD (inorganic and physical chemistry focus) from Clarkson University in upstate New York. He went on to become a Summer National Science Foundation Research Fellow in Solid State Chemistry at Northwestern University.

Dr. Schreiner joined the faculty of Randolph-Macon College in 1986. He was instrumental in helping to establish a summer student research program and is currently serving as a co-director of the Schapiro Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program. His research interests lie in investigating the design of organometallic compounds with applications in homogeneous catalysis and metal-based drug therapy.
